Why Opera-Palooza?

New Haven has a rich history of being a "new" home to Italian immigrants who migrated to Connecticut during the late 19th century.  By the late 1800's Italian immigrants had moved into the Wooster Street area of New Haven and became the city's dominant ethnic group.  With the influx of so many people, it was only natural that Italian culture would accompany its people with the recipes and music from the "old country".

On Saturday, August 19th, Italian music aficionados will come together on the Historic New Haven Green, under the late summer moonlight for Opera-Palooza.  Opera-Palooza is a celebration of all things Italian in New Haven.  We want you to be a part of it!
